The Arts Society (TAS) was founded in 1968 to promote and advance aesthetic education, to cultivate the appreciation and study of the decorative and fine arts and to support the conservation of our national artistic heritage.

The Arts Society Croydon Area is a recent member society of NADFAS. The meeting starts promptly at 10.45 am and coffee is served from 10 am for about half an hour. The meetings are on the 2nd Thursday of every month, except August and December. These are very varied in topic and we welcome suggestions from our members.

Our speakers, who are all experts in their specialist fields, are taken from a directory maintained by TAS.

We also arrange visits (usually guided) to places of artistic, architectural or heritage interest and there are opportunities for volunteering as a church recorder or heritage volunteer.
